We spoke to singer and actress Alexandra Burke about how she found Symprove, her newfound passion for gut health, and her tips for looking after her physical and mental health.

How did you hear about Symprove and how long have you been taking it?

I had been experiencing pain and discomfort for a couple of years before discovering Symprove. It had taken me some time to find the courage to speak to my doctor as I was too embarrassed to explain the symptoms, I was experiencing to be honest. Once I told her everything, she recommended to me that I should start using Symprove, this was around June 2021 when I was in rehearsals for Joseph at The Palladium. My doctor took it every morning herself which was encouraging as I’d tried many different things before, but nothing had worked or changed how I was feeling.

What motivated you to get involved with Symprove?

I’d got to the point where I’d become nervous about performing and being on stage in general due to the pain. I was changing my eating habits or purposely not eating before a performance so that I wasn’t in any discomfort on stage. As soon as I was recommended Symprove I was amazed by the results very quickly. Symprove gave me back my daily happiness.

What does your morning routine look like?

It changes every day or week depending on my schedule. At the moment I’m on tour with Joseph and pregnant, so my days start a lot more slowly. I have two of my dogs with me, so a dog walk is the first thing I normally do, I have no choice there! When I’m not on tour and once the baby arrives, I’m sure it will be very different again. Life is a blessing and as long as I incorporate a workout into my daily routine, I know I’ll be just fine. I have a Peloton bike at home so normally I’d do an hour on that to start the day off, followed by a workout in the gym with some weights. Symprove, exercise and a coffee are key to my morning routine!

Where did your interest in gut health start?

Since starting Symprove really as I’d never really thought about it before. I knew something wasn’t right, but I thought it one of those things and there wasn’t anything that could be done.

Top tips for looking after physical health?

Find an hour a day for yourself and find a sport or exercise that you absolutely love and do your thing! It doesn’t matter if it’s a gym workout, running, walking, swimming, yoga, or a dance workout at home - once you find that thing you love you’ll always look forward to it. I’ve never regretted a workout, not once. The feeling afterwards and during the day is all worth it, it really does pump those endorphins around your body.

And your mental health?

Switching off from the world! I’m all for finding a day in the week to totally switch off from your phone, the news, life’s stresses and focus on you. I love having massages or booking in some pampering. It’s important that we feel good inside and out so don’t ever feel guilty for me time.

Why should people care about Symprove?

It’s been life-changing for me. It’s amazing how many people I bump into who are also so thankful to Symprove. I was on a photo shoot the other day and the stylist told me she’d also tried everything and had lost so much weight because she was too scared to eat. She then discovered Symprove. These stories are wonderful to hear because how we feel is so important to our daily lives.

Original or Mango & Passion Fruit?

Mango and Passion Fruit flavour is the one for me because it has a nice sweetness to it.
